Why Natural Beauty Products Are Best

Why Natural Beauty Products Are Best

If you’ve ever wondered why the green beauty trend is so big, then read on to find out what makes it so special, and why natural beauty products really are the best.

It’s a trend that just keeps on growing. The use of natural skincare, bodycare, haircare and make-up is now common place in most households, and there’s a very good reason for this. It’s much easier to get hold of natural beauty products now, and we have a better understanding of how unnatural chemical beauty can affect us. This has resulted in gorgeous clean and ecological face, body and hair products making their way into our bedrooms, bathrooms and handbags. It’s a trend that we welcome, and that’s why all of our Nakin Skincare range is as natural as possible. Read on to find out why we love natural beauty products.

Enhances Our Natural Biology

Natural beauty products work in harmony with our skin and do not damage our natural biology. Conventional skincare is often made of a whole host of synthetic ingredients. Just take a look at an ingredients list and you will find a barrage of uncomprehendible complex chemical names that we recommend avoiding - such as Methylpropanediol, Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Trisodium EDTA, Butylphenyl Methylpropional and Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone. At Nakin we wonder why companies still use these ingredients, and we can only assume it is because they are extremely cheap to make. Some of them do make skin feel nice but can affect skin negatively in other ways. Skin absorbs around 60 to 70 percent of everything that we put onto it, this is just a guide as thicker areas of skin such as the bottom of our feet absorb less, and thinner areas such as our eye lids and scalp absorb more. We recommend limiting the amount of synthetic chemicals that we use as the content absorbed by our skin enters our bloodstream. We don’t need to be scientists to know that this cannot be good for us, and natural beauty products are the best option.

Healing & Therapeutic Benefits

Natural products use plant ingredients to beautify from the earth’s bounty. There are so many wonders of the world that possess incredible properties which improve skin and hair. They often contain healing benefits as well. Essential Oils are a superb example of this. Frankincense has many skin anti-ageing benefits including helping with skin sagging and helping to soothe skin and minimise the look of scars and age spots, but it also has healing properties that reduce inflammation and infection, plus inhaling it enhances feelings of wellness and peace.

Gorgeous To Use

At Nakin we get little enjoyment from placing skin, hair and make-up products on us that we know are filled with unfriendly synthetic and harsh ingredients. Sometimes just opening a product with a manmade scent is off putting and headache inducing. But give us a natural beauty product and we are in heaven using the gorgeous pots of goodness, with divine natural scents.

Highly Effective

The science behind plant based beauty products has advanced so much in recent years. When natural beauty products first appeared on the market, we have to admit that they were somewhat questionable. The experience often involved something reminiscent to a hippie induced affair with too much grease. But the natural beauty products available today rival any conventional product that’s available, and in our opinion are far more superior. There are too many ingredients to list here but if we are to name one it has to be Hibiscus which is like a natural Botox as it helps to prevent muscles lose their elasticity, relaxing skin and soften expression lines. It also contains lots of other skin loving matter such as anti-oxidants, malic and citric acid. That's why we use Hibiscus in our Eye Cream Complex and Performance Face Serum.

Kind To Skin

Sensitive skin is on the rise. It’s one of the biggest comments that we get about the Nakin range, which is suitable for people with sensitive skin due to its natural ingredients and gentle formulations. We know that there are some natural ingredients that can be irritating to skin, such as using a large amount of an essential oil direct onto skin. It’s also important to remember that some people can be allergic to even natural ingredients, such as nut oils. But on the whole natural ingredients are kind to skin, and work to boost and improve without irritation or causing damage.

Cruelty Free

The other great thing about using plant ingredients is that there is no need to test natural ingredients on animals, as they have been used for centuries by humans, so we know what they do to us. We don’t want to mislead here and say that all natural beauty companies are cruelty free. This is definitely not the case as even if their actual products are not tested on animals, animal testing could be involved through other ways. A prime example is companies that sell their products in mainland China (not Hong Kong), as the current rules in China stipulate that cosmetics sold there must be tested on animals. We are proud that our complete range of Nakin products are all cruelty free.

Environmental Benefits

The active ingredients in natural beauty products are derived from plants, which are farmed and harvested. They contribute to the ecosystem with benefits to the natural environment. This is in contrast to chemical ingredients that are produced in a factory, unlike natural ones this has no benefit to wildlife or the environment. Nakin always use ingredients from sustainable resources, including community projects where possible. As well as being eco-friendly they contribute to the lives and wellbeing of those that work there. This is why natural beauty products can be more expensive than those that are not natural, but it is money well spent. That’s not always the case of course as some conventional products cost hundreds of pounds a pot. Natural beauty products though are generally affordable, great for skin and gorgeous to use.

We wanted to end our blog piece with a little note to say that when purchasing natural beauty products, it is always best to check the ingredients listing. This is because there is no legal restrictions on using the word “natural” on cosmetic products. The important points to check are how much percentage of the product is natural. Sometimes a product may be labelled as natural, while only having a small proportion of natural ingredients. Most ethical companies list the natural % on a product to help with this.
