Which One Product is a Must for an Anti-Ageing Routine
One of the questions we sometimes receive at Nakin is asking us which one product we recommend for an anti-ageing routine. Customers are looking to keep their skin dewy, fresh and younger looking, and would love one amazing product to do this.
This is actually a really hard question to answer as there really is no one product that will do everything, because maintaining youthful skin in our opinion comes from good cleansing, treatments and moisturisers. We developed our anti-ageing skincare range to offer excellent skin rejuvenation using the power of plants, and all of our products are anti-ageing and work together to some exten
If you wanted to use just one product after cleansing, then we would recommend the Active Dew Face Cream. It has lots of lovely plant actives and extracts to give skin hydration and nourishment, and importantly protecting skin from everyday stress. It does not contain SPF as this should be applied separately just before going outside, however, it contains lots of protection from things like pollution and cold weather. Having said that our Performance Face Serum is a more powerful anti-ager for lines, it contains lots of actives and extracts as well and one of them is a peptide which has more powerful line smoothing properties. It is still hydrating though and does work to provide protection from damage. Using them both together would give the best protection, but it makes sense for many of us to just use one product. Or you could use the Dew Cream in the day and the serum at night.
Our Eye Cream Complex also contains the same peptide as the serum and so is great for rejuvenating this area. We also believe that good cleansing with a high quality anti-ageing cleanser is really important in an anti-ageing routine. Our Exfoliating Radiance Tonic is particularly powerful for renewing the complexion.
All of our face products are anti-ageing and everything in our collection can be found here
Why You Need More Than One Product for An Anti-Ageing Routine
As we age, our skin goes through different changes, and it becomes important to take care of it properly. One of the ways to do so is by following an anti-ageing skincare routine. However, simply using a single product may not suffice when it comes to fighting signs of ageing.
There are various factors that contribute to the ageing process in our skin such as exposure to the sun, pollution, stress and unhealthy lifestyle choices. Each of these factors affect our skin in different ways and therefore, require specific products for their prevention or reversal.
For example, exposure to UV rays from the sun causes photoaging which results in wrinkles, age spots and rough skin texture. In order to combat this, sunscreen with a high SPF is recommended along with products containing antioxidants to counteract the damage caused by free radicals. On the other hand, pollution can lead to the breakdown of collagen and elastin in our skin, resulting in premature ageing. To address this issue, using a cleanser that removes pollutants from the skin and an antioxidant-rich serum is recommended.
Similarly, stress can also have a negative impact on our skin by causing inflammation which leads to the breakdown of collagen and elastin. To combat this, products containing anti-inflammatory ingredients such as green tea extract and plant oils can be incorporated into the routine.
Moreover, as we age, our skin also becomes more dry and loses its elasticity. This is where moisturisers come into play. They help with hydration and elasticity, but also give skin protection.
Using multiple products allows for a more thorough approach towards specific skin concerns. For example, if you are looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, effective cleansing, treatments and moisturisers will all help.
