Where to Apply Eye Cream
Most of us know that we should be applying eye cream, and we know roughly how to apply it, but lots of us are confused about where to apply an eye cream on our face. It might sound simple, an eye cream is clearly for the eye area, but when you think about your eye area it is actually a pretty big part of the face, when you take into account the eye lids, above the eye lids, the skin below the eye, the sides of the eye, and the area of the face which meets our nose and cheek. All of these areas are actually where you should be applying your eye cream, so take care to include all of these, but also take care not to get any cream into your actual eye.
Where to Apply Eye Cream
At Nakin we have an excellent award-winning eye product, which is our Eye Cream Complex, and we recommend applying it all over the eye area, so right up to the start of the brows, and the start of the cheek bone area that is near the eye, plus the sides of the eye up to the sides of the bridge of our nose, and on the outer sides up to the where the eye brow ends. We recommend including all of these areas to get the most out of a good eye cream like ours, plus if you did ever feel unsure then applying extra areas will always benefit your skin. So, for example, it will only help the top area of your cheeks if there is an eye cream, and then serum/ oil and/ or moisturiser are applied.
When applying eye cream, it's important to focus on the delicate area surrounding your eyes. Begin by using your ring finger, as it offers the lightest pressure, to gently dab a small amount of cream onto the skin beneath your eyes. Make sure to start from the inner corners and move outward, following the orbital bone. Avoid applying the cream too close to your eyelashes or directly on the eyelids near the actual eye, to prevent any irritation. Additionally, some eye creams can be used around the brow bone and lateral to the outer corners of the eyes, where fine lines often develop. Consistent application is key for achieving optimal results, so incorporate this step into your daily skincare routine both morning and night. Remember to always use a gentle touch and avoid tugging or pulling at the delicate skin around your eyes.
Taking Care of the Skin Around Your Eyes
Eye creams are specifically formulated to address common concerns in the eye area, such as dark circles, puffiness, wrinkles, and fine lines. Some like ours contain ingredients that can improve skin texture and brighten the complexion. It's important to choose an eye cream that is suitable for your specific concerns and skin type.
Apart from using eye cream, there are other ways to take care of the skin around your eyes. Adequate sleep, hydration, and a healthy diet can also contribute to maintaining youthful looking eyes. Getting enough rest can help reduce puffiness and dark circles, while staying hydrated can improve skin elasticity and prevent dryness. Consuming foods rich in antioxidants like fruits and vegetables can also protect the delicate skin from environmental damage.
In addition to skincare, incorporating gentle eye massages into your routine can also provide numerous benefits. Massaging the eye area with light pressure helps improve blood circulation, reduce fluid retention, and relax tense muscles. It's important to use clean hands or a facial massage tool when doing this step to avoid introducing bacteria onto your skin.
