The Ultimate Skincare Routine

If you are looking for the best way to take care of your skin, then take a peep at Nakin's ultimate skincare routine, for an easy follow seven step programme and healthy glowing skin. They say that in our twenties we have the skin we are born with, but after this we have the skin that we earn. Regular and fitting cleansing, hydrating and nourishing treatment of skin has a profound effect on how skin looks every day, and as the years go by.

In these modern times the array of face products available really is overwhelming, and it's hard to work out your serums from your peels and ampules. So at Nakin we have taken all our knowledge and experience to develop the ultimate 7-step skincare routine to keep skin clear, fresh, hydrated and youthful. Follow our professional skin care routine below for a definitive guide. We have mostly based the routine using our Nakin Natural Anti-Ageing Skincare range which we believe are the best skincare products available, due to the combination of both natural skincare and high performance anti-ageing. Follow the regime morning and evening where possible, but where time is short always stick to the crucial cleanse, tone and moisturiser steps.

The foundation to any skin routine is effective cleansing with a cleansing milk or face wash. Not only does cleansing keep your face fresh, clean and free from impurities it also allows other products in your skincare routine to access the skin as it does not have dead skin cells and dirt blocking its way.

The other important parts of cleansing are exfoliating, steaming and masks. We recomend everyone to steam their face once a week. This 100% natural and free therapy only requires five minutes, a bowl and a towel but will give skin an amazing deep down clean. The only essential here is to not burn the skin, keep your face a good distance away from the steam so you can feel it working, but with no intense heat. Exfoliation and using a mask straight after steaming will have an additional impact as the pores will be open.

The wonders of exfoliation and treatment masks cannot be denied, with their special ability to alleviate dullness and replace with a beautiful skin glow. At Nakin we only recomend natural exfoliation as harsh ingredients and processes can cause damage. For all skin types we recomend gentle exfoliation and mask once a week. Although younger skin is better at exfoliating itself, mature skin is more sensitive. It's important to keep exfoliation gentle so as not to damage the skin. Use a product like our Advanced Cleansing Milk and remove with a luke warm muslin cloth, using small circular motions. The approach to masks is very much going to depend on skin type. For oily skin we suggest a natural mud mask as an additional cleansing process due to its excellent clearing ability, brilliant for dislodging stubborn blackheads.

Toning follows cleansing and it's main contribution is to remove the last traces of cleanser, provide additional skin purification and close pores. We developed our Purifying Face Toner to do just that. It's a new product that purifies, refines and conditions skin, preparing it to be fully responsive to the products applied in the next steps.

Now that skin is perfectly cleansed from steps one and two - it's time for the application of treatment products, as this is when they can best penetrate skin and most benefit will be recieved. Begin with a powerful natural face serum like our Performance Face Serum specially formulated with minute molecules that deposit an intense concentration of repairing and rejuvenating actives to reduce lines, build Collagen and Elastin. Follow this with a facial oil to add skin nourishment and hydration, our 100% natural Rejuvenating Face Oil combines effortlessly with skin for a plump and glowing complexion without greasiness. For oilier skin types use a smaller amount of oil than for drier skin.

Incorporating massage into your skincare routine whenever you can will have a wondrous effect on your skin, and you don't need to be a massage or yoga specialist to achieve it. A simple easy to use and remember technique is gentle face pinching. Gently work around each area of the face, including the eye, neck and ear area. Be gentle around the eye area and more vigourous on the neck. Facial massage benefits include;

- Stimulation of muscles and lymphatic system

- Relaxing skin and reducing facial lines

- Boosting Circulation

- Detoxification

- Helping circulation and blood flow

Eye cream is an essential part of a good skin care routine so don't be tempted to use a face moisturiser to do this job, as they will be too heavy and weigh down the delicate skin on the eye. Try a natural anti-ageing eye cream such as our Eye Cream Complex that contains an astonishing amount of potent ingredients to naturally reduce fine lines, puffiness and dark circles. It smoothes on skin like silk and provides long lasting hydration without greasiness. Pat on gently so as not to cause any damage.

Moisturising is the element that gives skin protection, hydration and nourishment. Like cleansing it is a never-to-be-missed part of a skin routine. Choose a moisturiser that suits your skin type, for oilier skin types our Matt Formula Face Cream is beautiful and offers everything a top performing face cream can give, but with a matt finish. For drier skin types that require additional hydration, use our Active Dew Face Cream for soft, smooth healthy skin.

Lips are one of the most forgotten aspects of our skincare routine. Everyone wants soft plump lips, but often the only real care they see is a slather of lip balm. A good long lasting product like our Lip Treatment Balm will provide intense moisture and nourishment to hydrate, protect and heal  - helping to achieve soft, smooth and plumped lips. Lips need extra care because they do not have sebaceous glands like skin, and this is why the right natural oils and butters can transform lips. Lips are also subject to the affects of the environment in the mouth and everything that goes into it.

We hope that you have found our post useful in how to establish a skincare routine.

Skincare has become an essential part of our daily lives. With endless products and routines available in the market, it can be overwhelming to find the perfect one for your skin. We hope that our natural anti-ageing face products are the perfect match for you. The products work with the five main skin types: normal, dry, oily, combination, and sensitive. Normal skin has a balanced oil production and is not prone to breakouts or sensitivity. Dry skin lacks moisture and may feel tight and flaky. Oily skin produces excess sebum, making it prone to acne and shine. Combination skin is a mix of both oily and dry areas. Sensitive skin is easily irritated by certain ingredients or environmental factors.

The foundation of any good skincare routine is the basic four-step process: cleanse, tone, treat and moisturise.

  • Cleansing removes impurities, excess oil, and makeup from your skin. Choose a gentle cleanser like ours that does not strip your skin of its natural oils.
  • Toning helps balance the levels of your skin, detoxify and prep it for other products. Look for products like ours that contain hydrating or soothing ingredients.
  • Treatments: Look for products with high performing natural actives  to help reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Moisturising is essential to keep your skin hydrated and nourished. Choose a moisturiser that suits your skin type and contains beneficial ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and ceramides.
