Should I Apply a Rich Cream at Night?

At Nakin we do not recommend applying an overly rich or thick cream to our skin at night, as our skin really just needs a good cream that supports its own natural rejuvenation properties, like our Active Dew Face Cream. It is an extremely rich cream when it comes to the plant actives, oils, and natural extracts within it, but is designed to seep into the skin cells to get to work rejuvenating, hydrating, and protecting as much as possible.
Should I Apply a Rich Cream at Night?
At Nakin we have a full range of natural anti-ageing face products and are dedicated to helping to improve our skin naturally, and we do not agree with applying a rich facial cream at night. A thick cream is often just filled with plant oils that are too greasy for our skin, or thickening and film forming ingredients that do not benefit skin, and can also be much too much for our skin and block its natural functions.
We do not have a separate night cream in our range and the Active Dew Cream is made for morning and evening use, plus designed to work in harmony with our skin during the night and day. It is not a very thick cream on purpose, as the silky soft consistency is perfect, being easy to apply, easy to reach the skin cells, and offering long lasting hydration and nourishment.
If you feel that you need more then you could also use our Performance Face Serum or Revitalising Face Oil underneath the Active Dew Cream, which will give extra anti-ageing benefits and nourishment.
Why You Do Not Need to Apply a Rich Cream at Night
We feel that there is a myth out them that we should use a much thicker night cream when compared to a day cream. However, this is not correct and instead it is all about using what you love, and what feels great on your skin, plus is natural and gets results.
Most night creams seem to contain thickeners and synthetic moisturising agents like silicones and PEGS. These make the product feel thick and luxurious, and leave a silky film on the skin, but do not have any beauty benefits.
While it may seem logical to use richer serums at night for added hydration and nourishment, it is not always necessary. At night, our skin naturally switches to repair mode, working to regenerate cells and restore balance. Overloading our skin with heavy or overly rich products can interfere with this process, potentially clogging pores and causing breakouts. Instead, a lightweight, balanced serum that supports our skin's natural functions is more effective. Tailoring our night-time routine to your skin's specific needs ensures optimal care without overburdening it.
Night Cream Routine Tips
