Routine for Combination Skin in the Cold Weather

Routine for Combination Skin in the Cold Weather

If you have combination skin then the good news is that you can use absolutely anything in our Nakin Natural Anti-Ageing Skincare range. Combination skin needs skincare like Nakin’s that uses high quality ingredients to balance, nourish and hydrate skin, but without being too rich in greasy ingredients. This is true for the winter months, and the rest of the year.

Customers with combination skin can use everything in the range, and this is even if your skin has become sensitive because of the cold weather. Our moisturisers are split by skin type but both for combination skin, we have either the Matt Formula Face Cream if your skin is on the oily side, or the Active Dew Face Cream if your skin is more on the dry side. They are both great for normal and combination skin. They are also for both day and night use as they do not contain SPF, which is usually not enough protection when in a face cream, plus they are filled with actives and extracts that benefit skin in both the day and night. When the weather is very cold the Active Dew Face Cream might be a better option, as it has more hydration, and cold weather strips skin of moisture, often leaving it feeling uncomfortable.

How to Look After Combination Skin in Cold Weather

Combination skin can be a tricky to manage, especially during the colder months when our skin tends to get drier. But with the right knowledge and products, you can keep your combination skin happy and healthy all winter long.

  1. Cleanse Gently

The key to caring for combination skin in cold weather is finding the perfect balance between cleansing thoroughly and not stripping away too much moisture. This is exactly what we offer at Nakin as our cleansers effectively remove dirt and excess oil without disrupting your skin's natural barrier.

  1. Moisturise Strategically

When it comes to moisturising combination skin in colder weather, it's important to be strategic. Use a good quality moisturiser like ours which works well on oily areas like the T-zone, as well as being more hydrating on drier areas such as the cheeks. This will ensure that your skin gets the moisture it needs without causing excess oiliness in certain areas.

  1. Layer on Hydration

During colder months, our skin tends to lose more moisture due to harsh winds and low humidity levels. To combat this, consider adding a hydrating facial oil or serum to your skincare routine. These are best applied before moisturiser.
