Is Organic Skincare Good for Skin?

A lot of people assume that organic skincare must be better for skin than other types of skincare. It can offer many benefits for skin, however, this is not always the case as skincare products can often be labelled as organic when in reality, they contain a small amount of organic ingredients. While organic ingredients are usually kind to skin it will depend on the actual ingredient used in a product, as some such as essential oils can be too much for our delicate faces. Another factor is that many of the best plant active ingredients do not have organic versions, so keeping a product as organic can limit its anti-ageing ability. Organic skincare can be good for skin, but like any skincare product it all depends on the actual ingredients in it and the benefits that they have to offer. At Nakin we describe our range of anti-ageing skincare as being natural, as we rarely use essential oils, and it means we can use the best modern plant actives and extracts.

At Nakin we believe in the power of natural anti-ageing face products as they are kind while still offering excellent regenerative properties. Modern plant actives such as hyaluronic acid are at the forefront of natural skincare science. Ageing skin eventually loses its ability to stay toned, even and line free. To counteract these signs of ageing holistically, using natural actives is one of the best approaches. Natural active ingredients are derived from plants and minerals - they're not chemically made products nor synthetically created.

The use of high performing natural actives can encourage the renewal of collagen and elastin fibres. This helps to preserve the natural integrity of the skin, allowing it to remain youthful for longer. Natural actives also provide potent antioxidants which help to protect and repair damage from free radicals caused by environmental factors.

In addition, natural active ingredients are rich in essential vitamins and minerals that can nourish your skin, helping to improve its overall texture and tone. They can also increase the skin's hydration levels, leaving your skin feeling more refreshed and moisturised.

When it comes to anti-ageing skincare, using natural actives is a great option for achieving optimal results. Natural active ingredients provide powerful benefits that are not only effective but also safe for use on all skin types.

Therefore our Nakin range is natural as opposed to organic, and the reason for this is that using organic ingredients makes things much more limited on the actives that can be used. It is easy to include organic essential oils in face products such as lavender, but we rarely use them as they can be sensitising to skin and do not have the benefits that we like to have in our products. Lots of products that are really organic will not have the high performing actives such as the line smoothing hibiscus peptide found in our Eye Cream Complex and Performance Face Serum. There is also a lot of greenwashing in the organic market, where companies call their products organic but in reality, only a small percentage of the ingredients are. So, we prefer to use the natural route with our products as it opens the door to many more anti-ageing actives, but we still know that they are kind and safe for skin.
