Is a Cleansing Milk Better Than a Face Wash?

Is a Cleansing Milk Better Than a Face Wash?

If you are wondering if a cleansing milk is better than a face wash then as long as they are both high quality products like the ones in our natural anti-ageing collection, then it is not that one is better than the other, but instead which one is more suited to your skin’s needs and requirements.

Is a Cleansing Milk Better Than a Face Wash?

We usually recommend our Advanced Cleansing Milk for drier skin types or if your skin is sensitive, plus and the Rejuvenating Face Wash for oilier skin types. They are both made for all skin types though. The cleansing milk is oil-based and has a lotion consistency; it is a really kind face cleanser full of nourishment. The face wash is a more thorough foaming cleanser with deep cleansing fruit extracts; it does contain hydrators as well but leaves more of a clean feeling on the skin.

If you have normal or combination skin, then either would be perfect. If you love a face wash and have dry skin, then that is also great and just use a high quality natural one like ours. If you like a cleansing milk and have oily skin then this will also work and the plant oils can be balancing, just be sure to remove it thoroughly.

When it comes to skincare, the choice between cleansing milk and face wash often depends on your skin type and personal needs. Cleansing milk is a gentle, creamy formula that is particularly suited for dry or sensitive skin. It works by effectively removing dirt, makeup, and impurities without stripping the skin of its natural oils. On the other hand, face wash typically produces a lather and is ideal for oily or acne-prone skin, as it can cleanse more deeply and remove excess oil. Both products have their advantages, so selecting the right option for your skincare routine comes down to understanding your skin's requirements and preferences.

Choosing the Right Cleanser

When it comes to choosing between a cleansing lotion and a face wash, it is important to consider your skin type and its specific needs. Here are some factors to keep in mind:

Skin Type: As mentioned earlier, cleansing lotions can be better suited for dry or sensitive skin, while a face wash can be more suitable for oily or acne-prone skin. For normal or combination skin, either option works brilliantly. If you have dry skin and prefer a face wash, choose a high-quality natural formula like ours for the best results. For oily skin, a cleansing milk can work wonders; the balancing plant oils are highly effective, but ensure you remove it thoroughly for a clean, refreshed feel.

Ingredients: Always check the ingredients list before purchasing a cleanser. Avoid harsh chemicals like parabens and synthetic fragrances that can irritate the skin. Look for gentle and nourishing ingredients like aloe vera, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid.

Frequency: It is recommended to cleanse your face twice a day, whichever cleanser you choose - once in the morning and once at night. Keeping skin clear and fresh is such a great way to have healthy youthful skin, and improve the way that creams and treatments perform.

Double Cleansing: This method involves using an oil-based cleanser first to remove makeup and impurities, followed by a water-based foam cleanser for a deeper clean. This is especially beneficial for those who wear heavy makeup or live in polluted areas.

Exfoliation: Exfoliating helps get rid of dead skin cells and unclog pores, leaving your skin smoother and brighter. There are two types of exfoliants: physical (scrubs, brushes, etc.) and chemical (products with ingredients like alpha-hydroxy acids or enzymes). We always recommend a natural chemical exfoliant like our Exfoliating Radiance Tonic.

Toning: This step involves using a toner to balance or double cleanse, plus refresh and tone the skin. Good natural toners like our Purifying Face Toner also help to hydrate the skin and prepare it for better absorption of other products.
