How to Use an Oil Based Cleanser

At Nakin we love natural skincare and we also love effective hard working face products. One of these is our oil based face cleanser which is our Nakin Advanced Cleansing Milk. We love oil-based cleansers and there are two reasons that we love them, one is because a good one is able to clean the face and neck without causing irritation, disruption or dryness to the delicate skin barrier. The other reason is because they do such an excellent job of removing all types of facial grime, including daily dirt, SPF, sweat, oil and pollution.

A good oil-based cleanser will contain just that, a high performing plant oil that has cleansing powers, and give lots of comfort and nutrition to our skin. Oil based cleansers really are the best for all round face and neck cleansing, as instead of simply washing grime away they gently breakdown the tougher harder to clear things like SPF, oil and heavy make-up. This is because the oil on our skin clings to the oil in the product as they are chemically attracted to each other. The other great thing is that oil-based cleansers are really easy to use.

We especially love them as they can be so kind to skin, because they do not contain any foaming agents, and because they are in a different formula, which in the case of our Advanced Cleansing Milk is a creamy lotion. Read on to find out how best to use an oil-based cleanser.

How to Use an Oil Based Cleanser

To apply an oil-based cleanser like our Natural Anti-Ageing Cleansing Milk shake the bottle and squeeze out a 10p sized amount and spread it over the finger pads. Then rub the milk a little before massaging into the face and neck for 30 seconds, as this will help to dislodge any of the grime that needs removing, plus supply the skin with nutrients and hydration. Massage is also hugely reviving and lifting and gives the complexion a real boost. If you are wearing heavy make-up, then you might want to repeat the process in a double cleanse. We then recommend clearing away the oil-based cleanser with a cloth or when in the shower, as this will help to completely remove it. But it is not essential and you can instead wipe it away with cotton wool, although we do recommend definitely using a toner like our Nakin Purifying Face Toner afterwards, as this will ensure that any residue of the cleanser is completely removed, plus give skin an extra deep cleanse.

We hope that you enjoyed our guide to using an oil-based cleanser. If you are looking for a good one, then our Advanced Cleansing Milk is a great option. It has a lovely milky emulsion from the botanical formula that is filled with hydrating, cleansing and conditioning ingredients. One thing to remember with oil-based cleansers is that they can sometimes show some signs of separation, where the water and oil move slightly back to their natural composition. So, it can be a good idea to shake your oil cleanser before you apply it.

Whatever beauty products that you enjoy, we have a complete collection of cleansers, treatments and face creams in our range, and you can find out more about us and our products below. We have some other amazing cleansers, which although they are not oil-based they have many other skin boosting powers. Then we have our treatments, eye cream, moisturisers and lip balm and these are all oil-based, to provide superb nourishment for our skin.
