How to Keep Skin Hydrated and also Minimise Pores

At Nakin we have had messages from customers that are conflicted between keeping their skin hydrated but also keeping pores clean. It is an understandable query as if you have large or blocked pores then you might feel that applying a moisturiser is going to cause a build-up in pores.

If you have large pores or blocked pores, then some care will be needed to keep skin hydrated and protected while minimising them and keeping your complexion clear. Good cleansing is essential as well as using face products that do not contain ingredients which are too rich for the face. This is why at Nakin we avoid fatty ingredients such as coconut oil, macadamia and avocado. Instead, we use high quality plant oils that are full of vitamins and omega oils but are not too rich for skin. We also use lots of other amazing natural hydrators such as hyaluronic, glycerin, and cassia. They are deeply hydrating and rejuvenating, but without clogging pores.

For large or clogged pores plus anti-ageing benefits our Rejuvenating Face Wash and Purifying Face Toner will help, but our most powerful product for pores is the Exfoliating Radiance Tonic. It has fruit AHAs to clear and renew skin which helps with pores, plus hydration and lines. This can be used up to nightly instead of toner or as required, and SPF would need to be used in the daytime.

It is important to take care with the products used after cleansing to ensure that the pores are not blocked by skincare. We recommend using products like ours which are free of synthetic moisturising agents like silicones and PEGs. Our moisturisers contain lots of high-quality plant ingredients that are not too rich for skin. If you have large or blocked pores then we usually recommend the Matt Formula Face Cream. Using a toner or exfoliator before moisturising will help to clear the pores before application, or if not using them then make sure the cleanser is thoroughly removed before applying a face cream.

To maintain hydrated skin while minimising the appearance of pores, a consistent skincare routine is beneficial, with good cleansing playing an important role. Begin with a gentle cleanser like the ones that we have at Nakin, to remove dirt and excess oil without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. Following cleansing, using a water-based moisturiser like ours to keep the skin hydrated without clogging pores. Additionally, integrating regular exfoliation will help remove dead skin cells that contribute to pore blockage and skin dullness. Opting for products like ours containing jugh-quality ingredients like hyaluronic acid and cassia not only boosts hydration but also does not block pores. Remember that consistent application and patience are key to achieving optimal results.
