We hope that this provides some helpful advice on double cleansing. The double cleansing method involves cleansing twice, usually in the form of an oil-based cleanser followed by a water-based or foam cleanser. An oil-based cleanser helps to remove dirt, makeup, and excess oils from the skin. A water-based or foam cleanser helps to remove remaining residue and provide a deep cleanse that will not strip the skin of its natural oils.
To double cleanse effectively, start by working the first product into dry skin with your fingertips until it has fully broken down any existing makeup or dirt on the surface. Rinse off with lukewarm water or a cloth and then follow up with a second foam, cream-based cleanser, toner or exfoliator for a deeper cleanse. Rinse off with lukewarm water again and follow up with our treatments and moisturisers.
When it comes to double cleansing, it is important to remember that less is more. A gentle approach will help protect and preserve your skin’s natural barrier and prevent over-drying or stripping of the skin. The goal should be to achieve a balanced complexion, not a super taught one. Follow your regular skincare routine after cleansing, and you should see beautiful results in no time. With the right products and the proper technique, double cleansing can provide an effective deep cleanse for any skin type.
