How Long Should I Spend on My Skincare Routine?

How Long Should I Spend on My Skincare Routine?

For most of us our skincare routine is a big part of our everyday life, and it is common to wonder how long we should be spending on our skin routine. The answer really is as long as you can, or as long as you want to. Like anything in life, the amount of effort put into something tends to equal the results that we get out of it. Having said that at Nakin we only agree with this statement when the skincare products being used are natural and kind, like ours at Nakin. This is because we believe that conventional synthetic skin products can affect the delicate balance and harmony of skin with harsh ingredients, and so spending time applying these types of products can be counterproductive. However, if you are using high performance natural face products like Nakin’s then it is great to spend as long as you can on your routine. We always recommend a minimum of five minutes in the morning and a further five minutes at the end of the day. But you can spend a lot more time.

At Nakin we have a minimalist range of the products that our face and neck actually need, and we keep it as a capsule collection because each product is multi-purpose and so helps with lots of different face care requitements. However, even if using only a few facial products it will pay off to take time applying them properly and with care.

Taking the time to cleanse, treat and moisturise our face and neck properly means that we will better remove daily dirt and grime, and better treat and condition the face plus neck. This is because we are less likely to miss areas of skin out plus we will make sure we get the most from each product, and we will not engage in any pulling and stretching of skin, which often happens when we are in a rush. So set aside enough time to go through each of your skincare steps properly and really make a meal out of your facial regime.

When it comes to skincare, there is no one-size-fits all routine. Every individual's skin is different and therefore requires tailored care. However, the amount of time you should spend on your daily skincare routine can vary depending on a few factors.

If your skin is generally healthy without any major issues, then you do not need to spend more than 10 minutes in the morning and evening on your daily skincare routine. This should include cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturising. During this time, make sure to pay close attention to areas that tend to become oily or clogged, or are very dry, as those may require extra work.

No matter what type of skin you have, it is important to take time out of your day for yourself and dedicate those few minutes to giving your skin the best care possible. This will ensure that your skin remains healthy and happy for years to come. So, do not forget to take a few minutes every day to give your skin the TLC you deserve.
