Five Essential Anti-Ageing Tips for Skin

Five Essential Anti-Ageing Tips for Skin

One of the key things about keeping skin looking fresh and youthful is protecting it from premature ageing. Skin ageing is a natural process and happens to everyone, but there are lots that we can do to slow this down and keep skin looking young and bouncy for longer. At Nakin we dedicate our work to producing award-winning anti-ageing skincare and although our products are amazing for skin, looking after the face and neck properly throughout the years is also one of the best things that we can do to keep skin looking great. Read on for our top five essential anti-ageing tips for skin.

  1. Use a Kind Gentle Cleanser with Oils

Cleansing is important for young looking skin as it keeps skin clear and swipes away the dead skin cells. However, not all face cleansers are created equally. Many of them actually contain strong astringent detergents that can aggravate skin and cause it to produce excess oil as it works to recalibrate. So, we always recommend using an oil-based cleanser such as our anti-ageing cleansing milk. This is our advice for all skin types from oily, to dry, to combination and sensitive skins. Oil based cleansers work more harmoniously with skin to clear and freshen, but without being too strong. After the cleansing milk use our face toner to further revive and refresh skin.

  1. Exfoliate Skin Once a Week

The reason that exfoliating skin is so youth boosting is because skin has a layer of dead skin cells that can cause it to look older than it should. Dead skin cells on the surface of skin also prevent treatments like our anti-ageing serum from working as best possible, as it cannot reach as deep down into the skin cells as it can on exfoliated skin. Exfoliation also gives skin a nice fresh smooth surface. However, it must be carried out gently so as not to damage the skin. This is especially true if you have sensitive skin. We recommend using our cleansing milk and removing it with a damp luke-warm muslin cloth. You should never find that your skin is irritated during and after exfoliation, instead it should be a comfortable process. Exfoliating regularly helps to stop skin looking rough by getting rid of those upper layer dead skin cells that have built up overtime. It actually sends a kind of cellular signal to the deeper skin cells to cause it to increase cell turnover.

  1. Use Sunscreen Meticulously

We all love the sun, and we need the vitamin D that sunshine produces for us, but ultraviolet radiation is the number one cause of premature ageing and more seriously skin cancer. So, cover up all areas of exposed skin with a high protection high-rated sunscreen and take a vitamin D supplement. The only thing that we do recommend is to use a sunscreen that is natural and especially does not contain the ingredient oxybenzone. This ingredient is bad for the environment and known as a hormone disruptor. Using sunscreen is something that every beauty professional will recommend from dermatologists to plastic surgeons. If you have any doubt then compare the skin on your face and neck to an area that has not been exposed to the sun as much, such as the skin on your lower back. When applying sunscreen take time to get it right and cover all the areas of exposed skin, including the ears and back of the hands. One of the areas that sun damage shows easily is the face, neck, chest and decolletage; so, reapply sunscreen to these areas frequently to ensure they are fully protected.

  1. Use High Performance Natural Skincare

At Nakin we love natural skincare and always recommend this over synthetic products. This is because natural skincare works in harmony with our skin and systems to help protect and de-age skin, but without throwing it out of balance. High performance natural skincare like Nakin’s also contains plant actives and extracts that are organically filled with youth boosting nutrients, such as Vitamin C and E. These antioxidants help to fight free radicals and give skin protection from damage with their synergistic natural power. Nakin’s range is filled with antioxidant protection and all of our face products can be found on our website.

  1. Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

Our lifestyle plays a huge part in how we look. Eating well, exercising, and drinking water are all essentials for lovely skin. They are also great for our overall health, so living well has multiple benefits for us. You do not need to spend a fortune to stay healthy. Simply drink lots of water and include high nutrient value foods in meals such as fruits, vegetables and proteins. Keeping active plus avoiding sugar and alcohol is also important. Lastly for great skin remember to take time to rest and destress, plus always get enough sleep.
