Do I Need to Use a Face Toner?
Face toners seem to be one of those products that some people cannot live without, and others are not really sure what they actually do. At Nakin we love toners and our Purifying Face Toner is an amazing product that acts as an excellent second cleanse, to hydrate, detox and revive the face and neck. We would always recommend it in a routine, but if you prefer to use just one cleansing product for ease and budget purposes, then this is fine. Skincare is all about making your skin happy, and a big part of this is following your gut feeling for what is best for you.
Toners are an essential addition to many skincare routines, providing a range of benefits for the skin. They help to balance the skin after cleansing, where the last traces of cleanser need to be removed and skin can still benefit from further cleansing, but in a highly conditioning format. By doing so, toners prepare the skin for better absorption of subsequent products, such as serums and moisturisers. Additionally, many toners like ours contain ingredients that can hydrate and improve the skin, targeting concerns such as dryness and impurities. Regular use of a toner can lead to a more refined complexion, minimising the appearance of pores and enhancing overall skin radiance.
If however, you prefer not to use a toner then we recommend paying extra attention to how you remove your first step cleanser. Our Advanced Cleansing Milk is massaged onto skin and removed with a cotton pad, cloth or when in the shower. If you just wanted to use this then we would recommend always removing it with a wet cotton pad, cloth or when in the shower, as this will ensure that everything is removed. To use our Revitalising Face Wash you would create a foam with water and apply all over the face and neck plus remove with a wet cloth, or when in the shower.
Using a face toner can be a beneficial addition to your skincare routine, though it is not strictly necessary for everyone. Toners serve various purposes, such as balancing the skin hydration, removing any leftover makeup or impurities, and providing an extra layer of hydration. They can also prepare the skin to better absorb subsequent skincare products, such as serums and moisturisers. However, if you have very sensitive skin, are on a budget, or if your cleanser is effective on its own, you may find that skipping toner works well for you. Ultimately, whether to incorporate a toner depends on your individual skin type and specific skincare goals.
