Can I Layer a Face Cream, Make-Up, and SPF?
For some of us there can be quite a few steps in a face routine, and it is common to wonder if it is ok to layer face products together, particularly when it comes to moisturiser, foundation, and SPF. As a general rule we recommend applying your face treatments such as our Performance Face Serum or Revitalising Face Oil, then our moisturiser with either the Active Dew Face Cream or Matt Formula Face Cream. After a face cream you would apply a foundation if used, and then top everything off with SPF applied just before actually going outside, and reapplying during the day if required.
One of the queries that we receive if it is too much for skin to have so many layers? It will not be too heavy layering with our natural skincare range as our products are easily absorbed by the skin and do not leave a layer or film on the surface. If you feel that lots of layers are too much for you then you might prefer the Matt Formula Face Cream though, unless your skin is dry where the Active Dew Face Cream would be better. We cannot advise on the SPF and make-up that you might use, but our face creams are not too heavy to be layered. Our products are all easily absorbed and lots of customers will use our serum, oil, or both under the face creams.
Our creams are for both day and night use, as they contain lots of amazing natural actives and extracts that benefit skin in both the day and night. We do not recommend using an SPF in a face cream, this is because they are usually not enough protection when in a moisturiser. We also recommend only using SPF when actually going outside, and reapplying in the day as required.
All of our products are designed to offer long lasting hydration and nourishment, but without being greasy. They are easily absorbed and because they are free of synthetic moisturising agents such as silicones and PEGs, they do not sit on the surface and leave a film on the face. So, if using high quality products then generally you can apply your SPF on top of our moisturiser and foundation as required, without it being too much for your skin.
When choosing one of our moisturisers we have the Nakin Active Dew Face Cream which is for dry, normal, combination and sensitive skin. It is filled with skin hydrators, nourishers and protectors like hyaluronic acid, cassia, argan, jojoba and baobab oil. If your skin is on the oily side, including combination, normal and sensitive skin then the Nakin Matt Formula Face Cream would be better. The later might also be good if you are using a lot of layers in your routine and find that it can be too much for your skin. It will depend on how rich and thick your coverage and SPF products are. Good quality ones should not be too thick or rich, as this makes it harder for the skin to accept and can be pore clogging.
