Alternative to Kiehl's Buttermask for Lips

We all need a good lip balm in our life, as they do so much to help our vulnerable lips to look and feel as good as they can. One of the main reasons that people are converting from the Kiehl's Buttermask for Lips to the Nakin Lip Treatment Balm is because our product is much better value for money. The Kiehl's Buttermask for Lips is priced at £20 for a 10gram pot, whereas the Nakin Lip Treatment Balm is priced at £10 for a 15ml pot. One ml is equivalent to about one gram and so as well as being half the price, our Nakin lip balm also offers 50% more product. They are both high quality high performing lip balms that have been made with lots of care, and we believe our Lip Treatment Balm is one of the best natural anti-ageing lip products available.

The Kiehl’s lip balm is designed to overcome dry lips, with the lightweight yet sumptuous consistency that is fast absorbing and does not leave a sticky film on skin. It is infused with coconut oil and mango butter for moisture and hydration. Our Nakin lip balm offers the same benefits for skin and more with its 100% natural formulation that includes argan oil, baobab oil, grapeseed oil and mint. It helps to heal damaged lips and leave them soft, moisturised, plump and healthy. Both regularly receive comments from customers that they are their favourite lip balms, and they are very loved beauty products.

We noticed that both balms share some of the same ingredients, which is due to their ability to offer lips comfort, protection and relief from dryness. This includes shea butter and castor oil. We are not sure how natural the Kiehl’s lip balm is although it does have lots of plant ingredients, however, we did notice some ingredients in it that we do not use in Nakin’s formulations. One is Octyldodecanol, which we feel can be a potential irritant. We also never use coconut oil in any of our products, as although it is natural, it is also a very fatty slippery oil and so we feel it can cause problems by clogging pores.

Both products are colourless and so free from dyes, and we think they are both free of fragrance. We are not sure about all of the eco credentials of the Kielh’s balm, but the Nakin one is made in the UK, vegetarian and cruelty free.

The Kiehl's Buttermask for Lips is designed to be used during the day and then again at night. At Nakin although we have not called our Lip Treatment Balm a lip mask, we still recommend using it at night as well as during the day. This is because our lips can get dry during the night and so benefit from extra care at this time.
