Alternative Retinol Skin Routine for Wrinkles

Alternative Retinol Skin Routine for Wrinkles

At Nakin we are sometimes asked about where a retinol would fit into our natural anti-ageing face product routine and we always answer nowhere, as we never use retinol in any of our products. Retinol is actually on our banned list of ingredients due to the irritation that it can cause. It is a synthetic ingredient, and we prefer to use cosmetic ingredients that are made from plants, plus it is also an ingredient that can cause disruption for skin. Instead, we have a retinol alternative which is a line smoothing plant peptide derived from hibiscus, this helps to smooth lines and is kind and nourishing to skin at the same time. It is in our Performance Face Serum and Eye Cream Complex. It will not have the same dramatic effects as retinol but comes without the risks attached.

Peptides are a great option instead of retinol and is usually the preferred alternative for dermatologists, who either do not believe in using retinol, or have a customer that is unable to use retinol. Peptides, short chains of amino acids, are the building blocks of proteins vital to skin health, like collagen and elastin. These proteins give our skin its texture and shape. When applied topically, peptides can signal your skin to ramp up its production of collagen, thereby leading to a more youthful, resilient appearance. This process can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles by filling them in from the inside out, essentially smoothing the skin's surface and giving it a plumper, more elastic feel.

Another excellent product that we have for lines and wrinkles to renew the skin is our Exfoliating Radiance Tonic which uses fruit AHAs. Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) play a anti-ageing role in skin care by aiding in the removal of the outer layer of dead skin cells, promoting a smoother, more even complexion. Their effectiveness in smoothing wrinkles lies in their ability to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins responsible for skin's elasticity and firmness. Over time, consistent use of AHAs can help to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, revealing a more youthful and radiant skin surface.

The order to use our products in would be as below, and everything can be found here.
